Website and Research Privacy Notice

 

This website has been created to act as a platform to access information about this research such as dates of activities, links to surveys and downloadable information sheets.

 

The website does not collect any personal data.

 

If you choose to take part, surveys can be submitted anonymously. For interviews and focus groups or Social Identity Mapping the following information applies:

 

Will my taking part in the study be kept confidential? 

 

All information which is collected about you during the course of the research will be kept strictly confidential so that only the researcher carrying out the research and their academic supervisors will have access to such information. No one will be identified in the research or any following publication or report.  

 

How will we use the information about you? 

 

We will need to use information from you for this research project. 

This information will include: 

• Your name 

• Your contact details   

 

This information will be used to do the research. People who do not need to know who you are will not be able to see your name or contact details. Your data will have a code number instead. Once we have finished the study, we will keep some of the data so we can check the results. We will write our reports in a way that no-one can work out that you took part in the study. We will keep all information about you safe and secure.

 

Researchers must show that their research takes account of the views of patients and ordinary members of the public. They must also show how they protect the privacy of the people who take part. An NHS research ethics committee checks this before the research starts. This study has NHS ethical approval. 

 

What are your choices about how your information is used?

 

You can stop being part of the study at any time, without giving a reason, but we will keep information about you that we already have. You will also be supplied with a consent form before taking part, (that lists the key activities in the study), to check you agree with what you are being asked to do.

What will happen to the results of the research study?

The results will be written up into a research thesis for a PhD. The results and findings from this research may be used for academic publication. Individuals who participate will not be identified in any subsequent report or publication. Data collected from this project may be retained and published in an anonymised form. By agreeing to participate in this project, you are consenting to the retention and publication of data.
